Underwater Worlds take shape

After Reading Mr. Seahorse by Eric Carle the students created their own Underwater World on Water Color Paper.

We had a brief discussion on color mixing before we began.
They were only given the primary colors and had to mix their own Secondary and Intermediates.

Art Class on Halloween

We started class with a little dance - most of us had costumes on still from school.

Then we got busy with "eatable" art

Students created their snack:)  I think they had fun eating it too!  Photo's aren't great, but those are apple sculptures.  I unfortunately have no photos of the oil pastels we did after the apples....I think I was entrenched.

Alexander Calder in 3D

We read Alexander Calder's Circus book and got inspired to set out making our own Sculpture.
Our Rocking Stabile materials: Clay, Wire, Rocks, buttons, thread, wood, pipe cleaners and more....

My favorite part was watching them present their sculpture to the class - I'm glad we had time to do this.
